How do you use international dialing codes?

To use an international dialing code, dial the country code, then the area code and local phone number of the desired party. When calling internationally from England only, dial 0 after the international code and before the area code.

International calling codes are between one and four digits long. A unique code corresponds with each country, except in the case of some island chains or clusters that share codes. While all international codes work from all countries, some countries have alternate codes for calling neighboring areas. For example, individuals in Ireland can dial a special code to receive a discounted rate on calls to Northern Ireland rather than using the UK calling code.
