As of 2014, an uncirculated 1984 mint coin set carries a value of about $4 to collectors. According to the experts at Mint Set Guide, a total of 1,832,857 of the sets were produced and sold at an issue price of $7.
The set features Denver- and Philadelphia-minted Kennedy half-dollars, Washington quarters, Roosevelt dimes, Jefferson nickels and Lincoln pennies for a total face value of $1.82. Also included are collectible tokens from each of the mints. The 1984 mint set marked the debut of colorful images on the outer envelope; sets from the previous two decades were enclosed in plain white envelopes.
