The Cummins L10 engine has an oil capacity of 38 liters, or approximately 10 U.S. gallons. The filter has a capacity of approximately 2.6 liters (0.7 gallons), and the oil pan has a capacity of approximately 35 liters (9 gallons).
Cummins introduced the L10 engine in Europe in 1982. Production of the engine continued until 1998, when Cummins replaced it with the M11 engine, also based on the L10 design. The L10 was an inline, six-cylinder engine that provided power in a more compact configuration. European buses frequently ran on the Cummins L10. Later models such as the ISM and QSM were descendants of the L10 as well.
