When did Ford stop making the Ford Ranger?

Ford quit making the Ranger compact pickup truck on December 22, 2011. Ford manufactured the Ranger for nearly 30 years and more than seven million trucks were made before production ceased.

Ford chose to stop making the Ranger due to decreased interest regarding compact pickup trucks and chose to re-focus its energy to create full-size truck models. The Ford Ranger was originally designed to replace the Ford Courier, and the first Ford Ranger was created in 1982 as the Ford Ranger 1983. Although the Ford Ranger is no longer produced or sold in the United States, Ford continued to release Rangers for sale in global markets.
