Is a transmission filter hard to change?
By Forinfos - 19/10/2025 - 0 comments
Changing a transmission filter requires a moderate amount of vehicle repair knowledge as it is more complex than changing the fluid. For people who are not familiar with car repairs, changing the transmission during a routine tune-up is often best.
A variety of tools and supplies are needed to change the transmission filter including a pan gasket, car jack and jack stands, socket wrench set, flathead screwdriver and gasket seal adhesive. Changing the transmission filter involves raising the vehicle with the jack stands, then draining the transmission fluid. The pan is removed and cleaned. A new pan gasket seal is installed next, followed by removing the old filter and adding the new one.
