Who uses torque specification charts?

Auto mechanics use torque specification charts to ensure that fasteners of all types, especially bolts and screws, are neither too tight or too loose. Proper tightening is critical for wheels, as well as engine and transmission parts that rely on a gasket to contain a fluid.
Other users of torque specification charts are aircraft, boat, farm and heavy equipment mechanics.
All mechanics who need to use torque charts use torque wrenches. These are adjusted so that the wrench will not tighten the fastener beyond the specified torque setting. When the torque setting is reached, the wrench makes an audible clicking noise to alert the user.
