What is a vented propane stove?

A vented propane stove is a stove that uses liquid propane as a fuel source. A vent to the outdoors is necessary because incomplete combustion of liquid propane gas produces carbon monoxide and other toxic gases. Without venting, these gases could build up indoors and cause injury or suffocation.
Unlike natural gas appliances, which are connected to a delivery pipeline routed to the home, liquid propane appliances require an external storage tank for the gas. LP appliances are common in homes in remote rural areas where the cost to run a natural gas pipeline would be prohibitive. In many cases, a single large external tank holds fuel for all the appliances in the home, consolidating the gas supply.
