Who invented the electric stove?

The electric stove was invented by Canadian electric company owner Thomas Ahearn in 1892. He filed patent no. 39916 for an "electric oven." He demonstrated preparing a meal on his electric oven that same year in an Ottawa hotel.

In 1893, the electric stove was showcased in the United States at the Chicago World's Fair. However, the electric stove was slower to catch on with the general public than the gas stove because the technology was unfamiliar to many people, and many areas did not have electricity. The electric stove began to replace the gas stove in the 1930s as more homes became wired for electricity.
