The vertices of a polygon is the point where two sides of the polygon intersect or the point that is the farthest away from the base of the polygon. The number of vertices a polygon has is determined by the type of polygon.

The corners of a polygon can be referred to as vertices. A square and a rectangle both have four vertices. A pentagon has five vertices. A cube has eight vertices. Triangles have three vertices. A three-dimensional cube is made up of eight vertices, six faces, and twelve edges. A three-dimensional tetrahedron has four vertices, four faces, and six edges.
