Visitors most frequently visit Parris Island during Family Day, or the day that marine recruits graduate from basic training. Visitors are allowed on base for the ceremony with a valid photo identification and valid registration and proof of insurance for their vehicles.
Families may visit their recruits and be taken around the island by them from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Family Day. This follows the graduation ceremony, which begins at 9 a.m. This is the first opportunity that families have to visit their recruits since they departed for basic training. Current and former service members may wear uniforms to the graduation ceremony.
