Where do voles live?

Voles live in underground burrows. They live in most areas of the world and only require access to food and water.

Voles have become urban and suburban pests because they are drawn to the vegetation and shelter offered by human dwellings. They sometimes burrow in hollowed-out logs, under residential crawlspaces or under foundation slabs. The two types of voles found in North America, the meadow and montane voles, eat considerable amounts of grass, using almost all of the grass leaves and seeds for nourishment. They can destroy lawns and crops, which is why homeowners and farmers frequently seek methods of repelling or trapping these rodents.
