What is the voltage of a single AA battery?
By Forinfos - 21/05/2025 - 0 comments
A fresh, single AA battery supplies between 1.2 to 1.65 volts, depending on its composition. Nickel-metal hydride and nickel cadmium batteries put out 1.2 volts and are rechargeable. Lithium, zinc-carbon and alkaline batteries put out 1.5 volts but are not rechargeable. Nickel-zinc batteries put out 1.65 volts.
The standard AA battery measures 1.94 to 1.99 inches in total length, including the button terminal. It should measure 0.53 to 0.57 inch in diameter. The button terminal should be at least 1 millimeter high and a maximum of 5.5 millimeters in diameter. The human body produces too much resistance to feel a shock from the current in a single AA battery.
