Vonage offers home phone service with a variety of plans. The prices vary according to the number of minutes in the plan and whether the customer wants international calls included. Customers who are willing to sign a one-year contract are able to get free activation and other benefits.

Vonage uses the customer's Internet connection to make and receive phone calls. A customer needs broadband Internet, a U.S. billing and shipping address and a touch-tone phone in order to use Vonage. Customers are able to transfer their current home phone number to Vonage. If there is an Internet or power outage, a customer can use Vonage's call-forwarding service with a predesignated cellphone or landline.
