How do you wash 100 percent polyester?

Wash 100 percent polyester using the permanent press cycle and warm water setting. Dry it on the low heat setting on the dryer or hang it to dry for best results. Polyester can also be safely dry cleaned.

Add fabric softener to the rinse cycle to reduce static and stiffness. Remove the polyester item from the dryer immediately after the cycle has finished to lessen wrinkles. Polyester can melt or burn when ironed, so keep ironing to a minimum. Polyester has a tendency to shrink, so avoid over-drying polyester items. Soak white polyester in a bucket of warm water and dishwashing detergent, and then add 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle to keep items from yellowing.
