Watkins College of Art, Design and Film specializes in the visual arts. The college offers bachelor of fine arts degrees in interior design, graphic design, film, fine art and photography.

Watkins College of Art, Design and Film was founded in 1885 as Watkins Institute. Samuel Watkins, who died in 1880, left $100,000 and his property to be used to build a school that would teach the "business of life."

Watkins Institute became a full college in 1977, offering associate degrees in fine art and interior design. The film school was added in the mid-1990s, and the bachelor of fine arts and bachelor of arts degrees were offered in subsequent years.
