What are some ways to recycle electronics?

Electronics can be recycled by dropping them off at a local recycling center, having larger electronics picked up or by bringing it back to the manufacturer. Reusing or selling electronics is also a form of recycling.

Many manufacturers take old electronics, whether they are still in working condition or not. These manufacturers either refurbish the item or recycle it on their own. Some manufacturers that take back items include Apple, Dell, LG, Canon, HP, Sony and Samsung. Suppliers like Staples and Best Buy also recycle electronic items.

Most local dumps and recycling centers have a special section for electronics. They accept deliveries, sometimes for a fee. There are also charities that either accept drop-offs of electronics or pick them up for free. Some of these include Hope Phones, PhoneCycle, Recycling for Charities and Reverse Garbage.
