Some well-known films directed by Stanley Kubrick include "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned How to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb," "2001: Space Odyssey" and "A Clockwork Orange." His final film was "Eyes Wide Shut."

Other films Kubrick directed include "Spartacus," "Paths of Glory," Lolita," "The Shining" and "Full Metal Jacket." In addition to directing, he was the producer and screenwriter for many of his films, including "Dr. Strangelove" and "A Clockwork Orange." Kubrick made his first film, "Day of the Fight," in 1951. This film was a documentary short. Kubrick made a few more short films before directing his first feature film, "Fear and Desire," in 1953.
