How well does silver-plated silverwave keeps its value?

Silver-plated silverware retains value poorly as compared to silverware made from sterling silver, as there is very little actual silver in the material that can be resold on the silver market. However, some silver-plated utensils may have value on the antique market if they are in good condition.
Most silverware's value is due to the actual silver content of the utensils themselves, as they can be melted down and resold on the silver market. Sterling silver contains approximately 92.5 percent silver by weight and is the most valuable, followed closely by coin silver silverware at 90 percent. In contrast, silver plate silverware usually has a silver content of 5 percent or less.
