What were Carnation Breakfast Bars?

Carnation Breakfast Bars were a type of snack bar in the 1980s consisting of a granola bar covered in chocolate. It was available in peanut butter and granola, chocolate crumb, chocolate chip, granola with raisins, granola with cinnamon, chocolate coconut crunch, caramel nut crunch, and chocolate malted milk.

Carnation began selling its breakfast bars in 1975, and the bars were discontinued by Nestlé in the early 1990s. The packaging claimed that eating one breakfast bar with a glass of milk made a complete meal. Each bar was 1.46 ounces. Carnation Breakfast Bars were the official snack of the Space Shuttle Columbia.
