What were some of Confucius' achievements?

Confucius' (770 – 481 BCE) biggest achievement was founding Ru, a school of Chinese thought, to promote the philosophical ideals that have collectively become known as Confucianism. Confucius may be best known for the concept of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

The name Confucius translates to Master Kong. He is known as an educator and thinker whose teachings focused on government, the arts, language, speech and morality. The ideas and manifesto of Confucius are widely considered to form the foundation of all subsequent Chinese thought. Confucius' influence in the East is comparable to the influence of Socrates in western society.
