Fast runners at the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Cross Country South Central Regional Championships in Fayetteville included Stanley Kebenei of Arkansas, Craig Lutz of the University of Texas, Sam Stabler of Lamar and Brian Barraza of Houston. Kebenei was the individual winner of the regional.
Kebenei recorded a time of 29:08.1 in the 10-kilometer run. Lutz's finish of 29:13.7 was key to the Longhorns' second-place team finish in Fayetteville. Stabler crossed the line at 29:35.9, leading Lamar to third-place in the event. Barraza's 29:41.5 was tops for Houston and fourth-best overall, though the Cougars finished just 11th in the 23-team regional.
