The manufacturer has not discontinued Handi Wipes. Rather, they are now marketed as Clorox Handi Wipes and are available in most grocery stores and supermarkets.
Clorox acquired the Handi Wipes brand, among others, through a merger with First Brands, a division of Union Carbide. First Brands, in turn, had acquired Handi Wipes from Colgate-Palmolive several months earlier.
Handi Wipes were originally developed and introduced by Chicopee in the mid-1950s, and were one of the earliest nonwoven consumer products to achieve commercial success.
The manufacturer claims its wipes last 20 times as long as single-use paper towels and do not need to be machine-washed.
