President Andrew Jackson was said to have had a number of different personality traits including a strong will and arrogant attitude as well as the tendency to be vengeful and audacious, display great strength and have a tendency towards self-obsession. Many people are divided over former President Andrew Jackson's legacy because of his need to hold onto grudges and his many violent hatreds displayed during his time as president.
He felt that anyone who crossed him was a personal enemy so he hated Bank of the United States President John C. Calhoun and Cherokee Indian chief John Ross. He is perhaps most remembered for sending the Cherokee people on the dangerous and cruel Trail of Tears walk.
