Some traditional foods of the Kickapoo in the Northeast woodland region include corn, squash, beans and pumpkins. They also caught fish and hunted game such as squirrel, elk, raccoon, deer, bear and beaver.
The Kickapoo living across the Great Plains region hunted deer, bear, wild turkey and most importantly buffalo. Roots, wild fruit and vegetable were also available to them.
The Southeast Kickapoo hunted and ate rabbits, wild hogs, opossums, raccoons, deer and turkeys.
The Kickapoo hunted using bows and arrows, an assortment of clubs, hatches, lances, spears and knives. When European settlers brought the rifle, they used that as well.
