The popular 2009 children's book "Where the Wild Things Are" can be used as the theme for crossword puzzles, floor puzzles or a calendar featuring a character from the book for each day of the week.
Other activities include making coloring pages, magnet pages or tracings of the characters from "Where the Wild Things Are." Teachers can use the book to encourage young children to share feelings by talking about the experiences and emotions of the main character, Max. Story comprehension games, in which the teacher asks children questions about Max's experiences, and counting games using the "Where the Wild Things Are" characters are also fun.
