The Winchester Model 100 rifle was made from 1961 to 1973. The Winchester Repeating Arms Company produced less than 300,000 of this classic semi-automatic rifle.

The rifle had a 22-inch barrel and a weight of 7.5 pounds. It was popular among hunters for its unique one-piece stock, which was unlike other semi-automatic rifles at the time. The Winchester Model 100 came in several cartridge sizes, including the .308, .243, and the .284. An additional barrel option of 19 inches was later available. In 1990, there was a recall of the Winchester Model 100 for firing pin issues. The rifle had a tendency to fire while the action was not fully engaged, causing misfires and possible injuries.
