What is a "wire mod" in Gary's Mod?

"Wiremod" is an add-on for the "Garry's Mod" game that allows players to connect various sensors, inputs, gates and outputs together. The objects are connected using a "wire," which is a beam that allows output generated by one object into the input of another.

As of 2014, the "wiremod" add-on is available for download through the Steam Workshop and will automatically appear in "Garry's Mod" afterwards. The add-on's continued development and maintenance is now done by a group called the Wire Team. As "wiremod" can be a complex tool to learn, the official website for the add-on offers various tutorials and guides for first-time users.
