Are wolves endangered?
By Forinfos - 19/03/2025 - 0 comments
Both major species of wolf, the gray wolf and the red wolf, are classified as endangered. There are wolf populations that have experienced enough recovery to no longer carry the designation in specific regions. However, many animal species and subspecies not specifically listed as endangered are also considered at risk.
The Mexican wolf, a subspecies of gray wolf also found in the United States, is considered the most endangered wolf in the world. Another variety of gray wolf, the Arctic wolf, is not officially considered endangered. Still, even the Arctic wolf is the subject of some conservation efforts because of the effects climate change has had on its food supply.
