Women and men who use Rogaine can experience the same side effects, as minoxidil is the main ingredient in all types of Rogaine, according to Drugs.com. Rogaine use may result in burning, stinging or redness at the application site.
If severe burning, stinging or redness occur with Rogaine use, wash the exposed area, and contact a doctor, states WebMD. Rare and severe side effects associated with Rogaine use include fainting, fast or irregular heartbeat, unwanted facial and body hair, and swelling of the hands and feet. Other rare side effects include difficulty breathing when lying down, weight gain and tiredness.
