The average age for a woman to experience menopause is 51 according to WebMD. However, women can experience premenopause as early as their late 30's or late 40's, notes Healthline. Some women experience menopause before they turn 40, which is known as premature menopause.
The early symptoms of menopause remain the same regardless of when they occur, notes WebMD. These include irregular periods, missed periods, variation in the intensity of the period, hot flashes, vaginal dryness, loss of bladder control, mood swings, irritability, depressive feelings, dry skin, dry eyes, dry mouth, decreased sex drive and inability to sleep, according to WebMD.
