Is women's wrestling a professional sport?
By Forinfos - 27/02/2025 - 0 comments
Women's wrestling is a professional institution because the women who compete in it are paid for their participation. The best-known women wrestlers in the United States are also generally part of professional leagues like WWE.
While women can compete in wrestling professionally, there is some controversy around whether professional wrestling is a sport. Because of the choreographed nature of wrestling, and the fact that competitors often know ahead of time who is going to win the match, some argue that it is instead a form of entertainment. However, others argue that the athletic prowess necessary to compete in professional wrestling qualifies it as a sport.
