Daniel Day-Lewis beat out Denzel Washington, Hugh Jackman, Bradley Cooper and Joaquin Phoenix to become the first male actor to win three Oscars for leading roles. He won his previous two Oscars for "My Left Foot" in 1990 and "There Will Be Blood" in 2008. Jennifer Lawrence beat out Quvenzhan? Wallis, Jessica Chastain, Naomi Watts and Emmanuelle Riva and became the second youngest Best Actress winner.
