Why won't a nose pimple go away?

A pimple that is large or deep may take several months to disappear, states About.com. Deep, long lasting pimples, also known as nodules and cysts, are caused by inflamed breakouts.
Although it is normal for some pimples to last a long time, applying topical acne treatments directly to the pimple may help it heal faster, explains About.com. Applying warm compresses for 20 minutes, twice a day may also help. Never pop, squeeze or attempt to drain a pimple, as this can delay healing and cause scarring to the skin. For very stubborn pimples, sufferers should visit a doctor to have the pimple drained, to receive other treatments, or to ensure the pimple is not a boil or an infection.
