What do the Wonderlic cognitive ability tests assess?

The Wonderlic cognitive ability tests have been used for more than 75 years to determine a job applicant's ability to learn, adapt, solve problems and understand instructions. The tests attempt to match candidates with tasks that are consistent with their abilities.

By creating criteria for the best employee-to-job match, Wonderlic attempts to improve organizational retention, reduce involuntary turnover, decrease training time, improve employee satisfaction and increase productivity. Wonderlic tests are among the most widely used for pre-employment screening and academic enrollment, as of 2015. Tests are comprised of 50 questions with a time allotment of 12 minutes.
