What is a word problem calculator?

A word problem calculator is a mathematics calculator that can calculate word problems, such as "If Morgan has 10 jacks and Molly has 6 jacks, and then Molly gave 2 jacks to Morgan, how many more jacks does Morgan have than Molly?" The word problem does not need to be translated into a series of symbolic math questions in order to arrive at the answer to the problem.
Most calculators are unable to process a word problem and require symbolic math equations in order to arrive at an answer. Using a word problem calculator can also make it easier for children and adults to learn how to break down a word problem into solvable math.
