The world's hottest pepper is the Carolina Reaper. The Carolina Reaper is a cross between a Pakastani Naga and a Red Habanero, and its spiciness is 2,200,000 Scoville Heat Units.
The Carolina Reaper was ranked by Guinness World Records in 2015 as the world's hottest pepper, but it is also considered to have excellent flavor. The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, Seven Pot Douglah, Seven Pot Primo and Trinidad Scorpion Butch T round out the top five hottest peppers in the world. The Trinidad Moruga Scorpion is a rare pepper that was only recently discovered. The Seven Pot Primo looks similar to the Carolina Reaper, with its long, skinny tail, but is significantly less spicy.
