As of 2014, the highest-ranked banks in the world are Industrial & Commercial Bank of China Limited, China Construction Bank Corporation, France's BNP Paribas SA, Agricultural Bank of China Limited and Bank of China Limited, reports Accuity. These banks have between $46 and 58 million in capital.

As of 2014, the top 50 banks include institutions based in Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States and Spain. The top 30 banks held the same rankings in 2013, but during that year, the assets of the top two banks increased. The assets of other banks in the top 30 decreased. However, even the lowest-ranked banks in the top 50 held in the hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars in total assets.
