How can you tell what the Lord requires of you?

The Lord requires three things found in Micah 6:8: to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly. This passage from the Bible, along with others, gives detailed information concerning what the Lord requires.

In the New Testament, it says finding out what the Lord requires is as simple as asking Him. Jesus met a rich young ruler as he was walking one day; the young man asked the Lord what requirement must be met in order to be saved. As recorded by Mark 10:17-27, the Lord told the young man to sell every material possession and give the money to the poor, so that he could join Jesus and the disciples. The young man was saddened, he refused to sell his property and chose to leave the Lord.
