Who wrote "Divergent"?

The popular young adult novel "Divergent" was written by Veronica Roth. The screenplay for the film adapted from the novel was written by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor.

Veronica Roth is from a suburb of Chicago, and studied creative writing at Northwestern University. "Divergent" was her first book, and it became a huge success within a few months after her graduation. Along with "Divergent," she has written "Insurgent," and a third and final book in the Divergent trilogy called "Allegiant." The trilogy takes place in a dystopian post-apocalyptic version of Chicago. The rights to the trilogy were purchased by Summit Entertainment for film adaptation.
