Jesus Christ wrote the Lord's prayer. This prayer appeared in the New Testament section of the bible and was recorded in the gospels of Matthew and Luke.
Jesus Christ offered the Lord's Prayer in the Sermon of the Mount. He taught his followers how to pray, telling them not to pray like hypocrites, who only do so to gain the attention and admiration of men. Jesus said that praying and giving should both be done in secret, and those who practice this will be rewarded by the Father in heaven.
Several saints have spoken highly of the Lord's prayer, including St. John Chrysostom, St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Therese of Lisieux.
