Who wrote the poem titled, "When the Frost is on the Punkin"?

James Whitcomb Riley wrote the poem titled “When the Frost is on the Punkin”. He was born on Oct. 7, 1849 and was one of his day’s bestselling writers.

Riley grew up in Indiana, and a lot of his work expresses his childhood growing up in Greenfield. He published one of his first poems during his time working at a sign painting company. He later went on to travel with a medicine show and recite his poetry. James Whitcomb Riley became a bestselling author in the 1890s and had his children’s poems compiled in a book titled “The Rhymes of Childhood” with illustrations by Howard Chandler Christy.
