The Boston Red Sox World Series wins came in 1903, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004, 2007 and 2013. As of 2014, the franchise's eight World Series crowns rank third behind the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals.
The first title came with the club known as the Boston Americans, who defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates. The most recent was a 4-2 series win over the Cardinals. Sandwiched between are World Series wins over the New York Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, Brooklyn Robins, Chicago Cubs, Cardinals and Colorado Rockies. The club reached the World Series four additional times in 1946, 1967, 1975 and 1986, losing to the Cardinals twice, Reds and Mets, respectively.
