What is yellow yarrow?

Eriophyllum confertiflorum commonly known as yellow yarrow or golden-yarrow is a flower from the genus Eriophyllum and the family Asteraceae. It originates from California, and its flowers are yellow and cluster together on stiff long stems.

Yellow yarrow grows from 1 to 2 feet high as a shrub. The lobes are grown tightly together. Though the flowers’ color is yellow when it initially blooms in the beginning of the summer, its leaves are whitish from the tiny hairs on its surface. In autumn, the color is green-gray. The flower is considered herbaceous, which means herb-like. For optimal growth, the flower requires full sunlight.
