Do Yorkies shed?
By Forinfos - 16/11/2025 - 0 comments
The Yorkie breed of dogs does not shed like other dog breeds and is considered to have a coat that resembles human hair, rather than having fur like most other dog breeds. Just like humans, Yorkies lose some hair when they are brushed, while some hair just falls off naturally.
The Yorkies lineage is traced back to the Watershed Terrier, which is a small dog that weighs between six and 20 pounds. Yorkshire terriers tend to have long coats of hair that are bluish-gray in color. Yorkies were originally used during the 19th century in Yorkshire, England, to deal with rat problems in clothing mills.
