What is a young goose called?

A baby or young goose is called a gosling. The name "gosling" applies to all baby geese, regardless of their gender or the type of goose from which they come. The name no longer applies once they have flight feathers.
Goslings are larger and have longer necks than ducklings. They have large eyes, triangular bills and bodies covered with soft down. They do not yet fly, but they do swim and look for their own food. Like many parents in the animal world, geese are very protective of their goslings. The parent geese swim with their goslings in a group.
