A zebra nerite snail, also known as Neritina natalensis, is a species of small freshwater snail common in South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Somalia, South Africa and Tanzania. Its stripped shell gives it the names zebra nail and tiger snail.
The shell of a zebra nerite snail is popular for its attractive colors, which include a beautiful golden shell and the stripes that run down the shell. It is also popular among freshwater aquarists for its algae-eating abilities. It grows to about 2.5 centimeters in diameter at full length, and it prefers to live in temperatures of 72 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit.
