What is the 2,4-D amine application rate?

Herbicides using 2,4-D amine active ingredients are typically mixed at a concentration of 2.5 ounces concentrated herbicide to 1 gallon of water. This mixture produces sufficient diluted herbicide for application to a 400 square foot area of lawn or desired area.
The 2,4-D amine or 2,4-D name is an abbreviation for 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, an herbicidal chemical used since the 1940s for killing weeds and other unwanted plants. Different brands of herbicide often include other chemicals for additional potency or to increase the ability of the mixed preparation to stick to foliage, but the active ingredient in these products is still 2,4-D.
