The 2015 U.S. passport renewal fees for individuals 16 and older are $110 for a book, $30 for a card, and $140 for a book-and-card combination. The renewal fee those under 16 is $80 for a book, $15 for a card, and $95 for a book-and-card combination.

Individuals can use the less-expensive passport card at land border crossings and seaports when entering from Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and the Caribbean. The card is not acceptable for international air travel, which requires a passport book. For an additional $60 fee, the U.S. State Department offers to process the renewal within eight business days.
