What does "666" stand for?

The Book of Revelation of the Bible says that the number 666 is the gematria of the name of the Antichrist. The Bible says that 666 is the number to calculate the beast who is sent in the end times to oppose Christ and God.

In the Hebrew and Greek translations of the Bible, there are no numeric characters, only alpha characters, such as a, b, c and so forth. The Greek language used letters to represent the numeric equivalent. This numeric value is called a gematria. The mathematical equivalent of the number 888 translates into the Greek word for Jesus.
