Where do Adelie penguins live?

Adélie penguins are one of five types of penguin that live on the continent of Antarctica. They live exclusively along the coast of the continent and are one of the most southerly distributed of all seabirds.

Adélie penguins weigh, on average, around 7 to 13 pounds and can stand as tall as 30 inches. They primarily reside around the shore, feeding on krill, Antarctic silverfish and glacial squid, especially during the warmer months. However, not a lot is known about their behavior during the winter, when they spend most of their time at sea. Studies are still ongoing as of 2014, but it has been shown that these penguins can travel as far as 700 miles from the coast.
